Reading up on Googles blog today and came across this interesting guide. If your new to SEO, take a look, theres also a pdf download of the guide and another one for a list of best practises used inside Google.

do you need an xml sitemap for doing SEO work? if there was a bug in the system would you rather cover it with a sitemap?

actually sometimes it does not work well. if your content is good enough, you donot need the xml
